In the early 1960's Lillian Hagins moved to Tallahassee to begin work at Florida A&M, where for the next four decades she would give dedicated service to both the University's Dept. of Athletics and the Dept. of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. While working at Florida A&M University she served as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Athletics and Chairman of HPER when the two roles were combined under the late A.S. "Jake" Gaither and the late Hansel E. "Tootie" Tookes. For all who knew her, she was the ultimate organizer and administrator and was a die hard supporter of FAMU Athletics.
