The last quarterback to start four years at Florida A&M, Antonie “Tony” Ezell reigned for several years as the school’s all-time career passing leader until the dawn of the Gulf Coast Offensive regime under Coach Billy Joe in the late 1990s.

This Mobile, Alabama native, who turned down an appointment to the U.S. Navy Academy to follow his father’s footsteps to Tallahassee, led the club in passing all four seasons, finishing his career with 6,620 yards and 52 TDs. Ezell was the first FAMU quarterback to throw for 2,000 yards - he did it twice - in a season, throwing for 2,302 yards and 20 TDs in 1990, when the Rattlers won the MEAC title, and for 2,156 yards and 14 TDs in 1991. A two-time All-MEAC selection (1990, 1991), Ezell was invited to the Senior Bowl in his hometown of Mobile in January of 1992. An honors graduate from the School of Business and Industry, Ezell is now a top marketing and management executive with Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, Indiana.
