Emmitt and Hattie Alexander are the epitome of the loyal and dedicated supporters both to Athletics and to the University. The Alexanders have dedicated many years of service to FAMU and have donated over $150,000 to FAMU in the last 10 years alone, in addition to mentoring and sponsoring area youth in Orange Park, Madison and Jacksonville, Florida.
They have hosted the FAMU Rattler Athletic Tour Stop in Jacksonville, FL. In June 2021, over $20,000 was raised, and July 2022, over $25,000 was donated. Financial Sponsor of 10 Students and three Faculty Members from the FAMU School of Engineering Technology for a tour of AT&T Facilities and some areas highly affected by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans LA 2007.
Consistent donors to FAMU Athletics for many years, they assisted in the Fundraising for the Fieldhouse Roof Replacement.
Emmitt, who is from Lake Butler, Florida, played football from 1969 to 1973 and won three letters as a Defensive back, Punt returner, and was Captain of the kickoff Team for 2 years.
He is a Distinguished Alumni of FAMU CESTA, Lifetime Member FAMU NAA, FAMU Rattler Boosters, Rattler F Club Board Advisor.
