2012: Johnson saw action in 10 games as he finished the season with 26 total tackles, (20 UA, 6 Asst), three tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, fumble return, two interceptions and one eight pass breakups. He tallied a season high six tackles against Howard (10-6-12) and four tackles against Delaware State (9-22-12).
2011: Johnson was a member of a defense that tallied 22 interceptions on the year with him having five of them. He finished last season with 32 tackles (25 UA, 7 A), 0.5 tackles for loss, and five pass breakups. Johnson recorded an interception in five of the 11 games that he played in last season. H e garnered a season high seven tackles (5 UA, 2 A) against Hampton (9-8-11), and had five tackles against South Florida (9-17-11) and Howard University (10-8-11). In addition, he had four tackles against North Carolina A&T (11-5-11).
High School: Johnson lettered was a three sport athlete at Rickards High School in Tallahassee, Fla., as he lettered in football, basketball and baseball.
In his senior season, Rickards passed for 1, 250 yards and 18 TDs as he reaped First Team All-Big Bend honors and was a member of the honor roll. In basketball, Johnson led the Raiders to state championship.
As a junior, Johnson finished the season with five interceptions to lead the team.
Johnson recalls his best game is when he threw for 300 yards and three TD passes in a game. In basketball, Johnson recorded a season high 30 points against FAMU high.
Personal: Devonte Re’shawn O’Terrio Johnson was born on March 27, 1991 to Angela Rooks in Tallahassee, Fla. He as three brothers and sisters and in addition, his cousin Brandon Denmark is also a member of the FAMU football team. Johnson is currently majoring in Criminal Justice / Political Science and enjoys watching ESPN Sports Center and Reality Television Shows and hanging out with family and friends.
