2013: Butler played 11 games as a reserve, recording 10 tackles (6 solos), with 2.5 tackles for loss… He had five (5) tackles against Bethune-Cookman (11-23-13) and two (2) solo tackles against Samford (9-14-13)…
2012: Butler saw action in eight games as he finished the season with four tackles, mostly on special teams play. He tallied two tackles against Tennessee State (9-1-12) and one tackle against Hampton (9-8-12) and Savannah State (10-13-12).
High School: Butler was a four-year letter winner in football at Nova High School in Davie, Fla. He finished his senior season with 107 tackles, 12 sacks, four interceptions and seven forced fumbles, earning Second Team All-County honors and participated in the BCAA All-Star Game.

Personal: Karshawn Butler was born on May 2, 1993 to Keisha Frances and Carl Butler. He has six sliblilngs: Britney, Brianna, Tambria, Tene, Daisha and Kennedy. Butler has several cousins that are currently participating in college athletics: Nile Lawrence (Florida State); Kevin Grooms (Miami) (Fla.); and Curt Evans (Boston College).
