This season Carter will make the transition from offense line to defensive line as he's slated to be apart of the interior line rotation.
2009: Carter started in the remaining six games of the season at right guard after starting right guard Javier Wallace was injured in the Rattlers' game against Miami. Carter was a part of an offensive unit that finished first in the conference in total offense (370.3 yards per game ), rushing (180 yards per game) and second in the conference in scoring offense (28.0 points per game). With Carter at right guard, the Rattler offense amassed its second best performance in total offense of 463 yards against Norfolk State (10-24-09).
2008: Carter will be expected to fight for the starting left guard position. Last season, he saw action in three games as the offense racked up a total of 472 yards of total offense in 66 plays against Southern University (10-18-08) scoring 52 points and six passing touchdowns. The Rattler offense duplicated the task once again as they routed arch rival Bethune-Cookman 58-35. FAMU finished with 330 yards on the ground and 125 yards in the air, while scoring five rushing TDs and two TDs through the air for the final score.
2007: Red shirted
High School: Carter lettered in both football and weightlifting at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando , Fla. He was a first team All-Conference, first team All-Metro and second team All-State selection. In his senior season, Carter scored a TD on a one-yard run as he recalls one of his most memorable high school moments.
Personal: Carter was born on March 18, 1989 to Carlisa Fielding and Darrell Carter in Augusta, Ga. He is currently majoring in history education.
