Ten Rattler Gridders Selected All-MEAC
NORFOLK, Va. (July 27) - Ten FAMU Football players were namedFriday to the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Preseason All-Star Team announced during the league's Football Media Day.
Rounding out the FAMU “10” were a trio of Third team selections: junior QB Ryan Stanley, junior OL Obinna Nwankwo and senior OL Khalil Harris.
The Rattlers, who open the 2018 regular season on Saturday, September 1 at home against Fort Valley (Gs.) State in the Jake Gaither Classic, were picked to finish fifth (5th) in the league's preseason poll.
Defending champion North Carolina A&T was the overwhelming favorite to win the 2018 race, garnering 19 of a possible 20 first place votes.
Howard University was picked to finish second, ahead of North Carolina Central and Bethune-Cookman.
Trailing FAMU in the pool was Norfolk State, South Carolina State, Savannah State, Morgan State and Delaware State.
