Rattlers Track & Field Strikes for 23 Medalist Performances

GAINESVILLE, Fla. | Day two of the Celebration Pointe Indoor Classic (Feb. 3) went incredibly well for the Florida A&M track and field program. There were eight event wins and 23 total medalist performances; of those, nine either captured a collegiate or indoor best.

The Rattlers will have a little over two weeks to prepare for the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship (Feb. 16-17).

There was plenty to discuss on the day:

After action in the Celebration Pointe Classic and Alachua County Collegiate Invitational, Kiara Ivy (pole vault), Denae Hill (shot put), and Forrest Booker (triple jump) are working back-to-back first-place finishes in their respective events
Mia Heard, Imani Walker, Hill, Kobe Gibson and Samuel Gardner broke facility records in the long jump, shot put, and 60-meter dash
Heard also swept the long jump and triple jump events at the Celebration Pointe Classic
