GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Ty'Yana Adams rewrote the Florida A&M record book Saturday, blazing to a 13.18-second finish in the 100-meter hurdles to headline a string of standout performances by the Rattlers at the Tom Jones Memorial Classic hosted by the University of Florida.

Adams' record-setting run capped a dominant day for FAMU's women's sprinters and hurdlers, who combined for multiple personal bests against a field that featured some of the top programs in the Southeast.

Diandrenique Gaines turned in one of the most impressive performances of the afternoon, clocking an 11.23 in the 100 meters to establish a new personal record and vault to No. 2 on the all-time FAMU performance list in the event. Gaines' time signals a breakthrough moment in what has been a steady climb through the Rattler record books this outdoor season.

In the 400 meters, a pair of Rattlers posted career-best marks. Kirah Copeland crossed the line in 54.00 seconds, while Amani Kirnon was close behind with a personal-best 54.92 — both times reflecting the depth FAMU has built in the quarter-mile this spring.
