Rattler Shot Putters Set Facility Records at Alachua Meet

GAINESVILLE, Fla. | The Florida A&M track and field team returned to the Alachua County Sports Complex Friday (Jan. 27), where it wrapped action in the host's college invitational with five first-place performances and another facility record.

Highlights of the day saw Kiara Ivy, the Southwestern Athletic Conference's defending indoor and outdoor pole vault champion, earn their first win of the season with a college-best 3.70 meters (12' 1.15"). Lacie Deboskie also posted a personal record en route to a gold-medal effort in the 500-meter race (1:16.95), and Denae Hill and London Shaw broke the facility record with a 1-2 finish in the shot put.

FAMU's other winning marks/times included: Hill (SP / 12.46m); Forrest Booker (14.00m / triple jump); and the women's 4x400 relay (3:52.30).

Florida A&M will use the Celebration Pointe Indoor Classic (Feb. 2-3) as its final tune-up before the SWAC Championships (Feb. 16-17).
