LANDOVER, Md. | Kiara Ivy's win in the pole vault highlighted the final day of action for the Florida A&M University women's track and field team at the 2020 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex.
Florida A&M entered the final day eighth and finished in that spot with 26 points as North Carolina A&T State won the meet with 165 points. Norfolk State claimed second with 131 points, followed by Bethune-Cookman (82), Maryland Eastern Shore (56), Howard (50.5), North Carolina Central (47) and Morgan State (46.5). Coppin State (25), Delaware State (13) and South Carolina State (9) rounded out the 11-team field.
Ivy won the pole vault with a mark of 3.35m to defeat North Carolina A&T State's Sandra Brown.
Rachel Robertson placed sixth in the triple jump, with a leap of 12.04m. In the 3000m,
Mercy Rotich finished 10th, with a time of 11:06.44 and FAMU closed out the meet in the 4x400m as the team of
Mya Dumpson,
Lonzetta Simpkins,
Zakharia Frett and
Kiara Ivy placed eight.
