TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Florida A&M junior punter Chris Faddoul earned national recognition on Monday when he was selected as a STATS FCS Honorable Mention Specialist.
Faddoul, who was the top punter among FCS kickers last season, set a pair of school record in the Rattlers loss to No. 17 Central Florida. The Watson Chapel, Fla. native broke the single-game record for punts with 11. He surpassed the mark previously held by Vince Coleman against Miami in 1980. In addition, Faddoul's 11 punts resulted in 533 yards, which surpassed Coleman's mark of 499, also against Miami in 1980.
Faddoul averaged 48.5 yards per punt against the Knights and had four inside the 20-yard line.
The Rattlers will have its 2019 home opener on Sept. 14 against Fort Valley State in the Third Annual Jake Gaither Classic at Bragg Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
