TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 26) - The FAMU Department of
Athletics will host a pep rally/press conference to welcome home Clemon
Johnson, as he takes the helm of the Rattler basketball team.
Johnson, a former All-American at FAMU and NBA player, will
attempt to revitalize a men's basketball program that has averaged 10 wins over
the last four seasons.
The welcome back event will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Alfred
Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium. Parking at Bragg Stadium will be open
to the public. The Marching "100"
and the MEAC Champion FAMU Cheerleaders will be on hand to fire up the Rattler
Nation.
Doors to the venue will open at 5 p.m. FAMU president Dr. James H. Ammons and
FAMU Director of Athletics, Derek Horne, will appear at the event.
Rattler fans are encouraged to wear orange
and green and bring others along.
We want a strong showing as we welcome home a Rattler legend to bring back that old FAMU spirit.
Season basketball tickets will be available at the event.
