Kimberly Sparkman is far from the normal active athlete. With a very timid nature, there is nothing timid about her performance on the court.
Born and raised by Kim Williams and Sammy Sparkman in Columbia, Tennessee, in her spare time she likes to relax and sketch drawings.
Sparkman has a very high standard to live up to. The standards of competing with herself because of such great success in the past two seasons at FAMU while leading the Lady Rattlers in scoring.
However, before attending FAMU, she was played at Volunteer State Community College under head coach, Chris Harris in Gallatin, Tennessee. It was there Sparkman would win first team her freshman year with a career high of 30 points.
As a Columbia high school student-athlete, Sparkman played basketball, ran track and cross country. Her junior and senior year she won the title of all district team. Her career high was 28 points, 8 assists and 5 steals.
Since attending FAMU Sparkman has broken the record for the most 3 pointers in one year. Her precision from the three-point line has helped the women's basketball program to their first 20-win seasons in several years. She has contributed to the success of the Lady Rattlers from the past couple of seasons. Success is the only option Sparkman may know because she comes from a background where accomplishments were anticipated as her father was a professional boxer and her brother, Fred Sparkman played football for the University of North Carolina.
