High School: Wilson lettered in track and field and football at Coatesville Area Senior High School in Coatesville, Pa. He was the farthest thrower in shot put and discus his junior and senior year. He threw 54'9 in shot put and 122'0 in discus. He was also the MVP of the football team both his junior and senior season of play.

Personal: Evander Hays Wilson was born on May 13, 1991 to Dovetta Wilson in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.  He has two siblings, Steven and Charles Brazzle. His brother Steven Brazzle, plays football for Pittsburgh Power (AFL), and he also attended FAMU. Wilson is a health science major and he also plays football for FAMU.
