High School: Johnson lettered in football and track and field at Glades Central High School in Belle Glade, Fla. In Johnson's Junior year on the track team, he was named Most Improved Player and he served as captain of the team. The following year, he was name Most Valuable Player. He reached his career high in the long jump at 25 feet and a high in high jump at 6 foot 2 inches. He graduated with honors and received the Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship, PBA Scholarship, and the Tyler Muenmi Athletic Scholarship.

Personal: Willie Johnson III was born on June 1^st , 1991 to Lydia P. Taylor and Willie Johnson Jr. in Belle Glade, Fla. Johnson has two siblings, Marcus and Darion Johnson. He also has a cousin, John Destin who is a defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Johnson is currently pursuing a degree in Pre-Pharmacy/Chemistry and in his spare time he enjoys poetry and chemistry.
