BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Feb. 4) | After an impressive showing in Southwestern Athletic Conference action, Florida A&M's leading scorer Sterling Young earned conference recognition as one of the week's top performers -- Co-Player and Co-Newcomer.

Dropped 20 points in back-to-back games … recorded a team-high 21 points with three rebounds and three assists in the Rattlers' 67-66 loss to Alabama State … added 23 points in the 95-79 win against Alabama A&M … finished the weekend with nine 3-pointers 

FAMU men's basketball has a Texas trip on the horizon with action at Texas Southern (Feb. 8) and Prairie View A&M (Feb. 10).
