ATHENS, Ga. -- The Florida A&M men's basketball team kept Georgia to just 7.7 percent from beyond the arc in a 2-for-26 shooting performance, but fell 87-57 to the Bulldogs on the road Monday.
The Rattlers (0-4) had three players score in double figures, led by Anquan Boldin Jr., who had 16 points. Tyler Shirley tacked on 13 points and six rebounds and Jordan Chatman chipped in as well with 13 points and two steals off of the bench.
Led by Miles Ndalama's four offensive rebounds, Florida A&M did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 15 boards that resulted in seven second chance points.
Florida A&M forced 13 Georgia turnovers. The Rattlers turned those takeaways into seven points on the other end of the floor. Ndalama led the way individually with three steals.
How It Happened
Florida A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 44-22 heading into halftime.
Georgia kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 71-40 advantage before Florida A&M went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Shirley's three, to shrink the deficit to 71-45 with 7:47 to go in the contest. Georgia responded and outscored the Rattlers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 87-57. Florida A&M got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 22 of its 35 total points.
