CHICAGO | Florida A&M track and field will now have a week to prepare for the Southwestern Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. The two-day Windy City Invite (Feb. 9-10) served as the program's final tune-up, capturing two event wins. On Saturday, it was freshman Nya Blocker who clocked in first in the women's 200-meter race (22.63).

The men's 4x400, comprised of Norman Mukwada, Kwame Smith, William Shelton, and Kendrick Winfield, ran its fastest time this season (3:13.55) for a second-place finish, and additional high marks saw Joseph DeRosier set a personal record in the 60-meter hurdle finals (7.79 / third place).

Next up for the Rattlers is the SWAC Championship (Feb. 17-18) in Birmingham, Ala.
