GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida A&M University's track and field program delivered one of its strongest performances of the season at the 2026 Pepsi Florida Relays, held April 3-4 at the University of Florida's Percy Beard Track, with the Rattlers setting two school records and recording multiple personal bests across both the men's and women's programs.

Janaree Kinchen headlined the meet for the Rattlers, clocking an 11.15 in the women's 100 meters to establish a new FAMU school record. The freshman finished second in the collegiate section, trailing only Florida's Gabrielle Matthews (11.11), and matched the time posted by Olympic Development winner Jaslyn Gardner.

The women's 4x100-meter relay squad — Kinchen, Diandrenique Gaines, Arayana Ladson and Kiersten Clark — also broke the school record, posting a 43.65 in the preliminary round. The group advanced to the final and finished fourth overall with a time of 43.73, competing against a field that included SEC programs Tennessee, South Carolina and Florida.

Clark, who contributed to the relay effort, also posted a personal record of 11.61 in the individual 100 meters.

On the men's side, Joseph DeRosier continued to assert himself as one of the SWAC's premier hurdlers. The sophomore clocked a personal-record 13.50 in the men's 110-meter hurdles final, finishing second overall behind Florida State's Andre Korbmacher (13.47).

DeRosier had qualified first out of the preliminary round with a 13.63.

Leonard Mustari added a sixth-place finish for the Rattlers in the same event, posting a 13.82.

Ty'yana Adams turned in a personal-record performance in the women's 100-meter hurdles, clocking 13.29 to finish fifth in the final. Adams had advanced out of the preliminary round with a 13.30.

Tara Bert set a personal best in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:07.93, while teammate Leandra Ferrell also posted a personal best of 2:13.38 in the same event. Amani Kinon rounded out the individual personal records, finishing the women's 400 meters in 55.12 — a personal best.

Josiah Gaynor provided the program's top men's field performance, finishing fifth in the men's long jump invite with a mark of 7.49 meters. In the women's long jump, Zekira Snow posted a mark of 5.79 meters to finish eighth.
