BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Florida A&M track and field program was quite successful at the UAB Vulcan Invite (Jan. 13), doubling its event wins from the first meet of the season. Tionna Brown (60 meters), Joseph Derosier (60-meter hurdles), Rori Lowe (400 meters), and the women's "A" 4x400 relay team each compiled first-place finishes for FAMU on a day that captured 11 total medalist honors. 
 
Brown highlighted her Rattler debut by running 7.42 in the 60-meter final; she posted the fastest times in both the preliminary and final and later took part in the winning 4x4 relay that currently sits atop FAMU's 2023 performance list. Lowe ran the third leg of the relay and also notched an individual win with a time of 56.58 in the 400-meter race. 
 
For the men, Derosier recorded both a PR and first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles prelim (7.86) before clocking in at 7.93 in the finals.
 
The Rattlers continue their indoor schedule with back-to-back meets at the University of South Carolina; first is the Carolina Challenge (Jan. 19-20), followed by the South Carolina Invite (Feb. 2-3).
