De La Rosa Garners Back-to-Back SWAC Weekly Honors

The graduate setter was named Newcomer of the Week (Sept. 26) and was most recently tabbed Setter of the Week (Oct. 3).

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Florida A&M volleyball team has received Southwestern Athletic Conference accolades every week this 2023 season, and Camila De La Rosa is the latest Rattler to garner back-to-back recognition. The graduate setter was named Newcomer of the Week (Sept. 26) and was most recently tabbed Setter of the Week (Oct. 3). 

De La Rosa and Brooke Hudson each manage a team-best three weekly awards. The former totaled 59 assists in five sets of action; in FAMU's 2-0 weekend versus Mississippi Valley State and Jackson State, she recorded 11 in the sweep over MVSU and a season-high 48 in the 3-1 success against JSU. The latter performance also highlights the most assists recorded in a SWAC match this season. 

She also finished the weekend with 11 digs. 

De La Rosa and the Rattlers return to play in a three-match Houston swing; they'll meet Southern and Texas Southern on Sunday before concluding their trip against Prairie View A&M on Monday.
