BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Florida A&M volleyball picked up their second straight sweep after the team swept their weekend tournament in North Carolina and swept SWAC honors as
Dominique Washington is named Offensive Player of the Week,
Brooke Hudson is named Defensive Player of the Week,
Aja Jones is named Newcomer of the Week, and
Irem Ucar is named Setter of the Week.
Dominique Washington - Offensive Player of the Week
Dominique Washington was the Rattlers' most dominant hitter as they went 3-0 versus UNC Greensboro, Elon, and North Carolina A&T. Washington led the Rattlers with 50 kills averaging 4.55 kills per set. Washington added three service aces for the Rattlers. Washington recorded a weekend-high 20 kills in the win versus Elon.
Brooke Hudson - Defensive Player of the Week
Brooke Hudson was again a defensive force for the Rattlers, leading the team with 54 digs as they swept the weekend 3-0. Hudson averaged 4.91 digs per set. Hudson recorded a weekend-high of 21 digs in the win versus Elon.
Aja Jones - Newcomer of the Week
Aja Jones was an offensive and defensive force in the Rattlers' weekend sweep over UNC Greensboro, Elon, and North Carolina A&T. Jones recorded the second most kills on the team with 32, averaging 2.91 kills per set. Jones also led the Rattlers in blocks with 11, averaging one block per set. Jones had the second most points on the team with 38, averaging 3.45 points per set. Jones had season-high 25 kills and five blocks in the win versus Elon.
Irem Ucar - Setter of the Week
Irem Ucar returned for the Rattlers after missing the first seven games of the season and picked up where she left off in 2021 with 109 assists, averaging 9.91 assists per set. Ucar recorded a season-high 44 assists in the win versus Elon.
