SWAC Champions Announce 2022 Schedule

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | The 2021 SWAC Champions announce their 2022 schedule after a historic season, winning the SWAC Championship in their first season, competing in NCAA Regionals, and winning 25 games, the most since 2004.

Rattlers fans will have their first opportunity to watch the defending champions Friday, August 19, versus West Florida in an exhibition game.

The Rattlers open the regular season up with another challenging non-conference opener traveling to Manhattan, Kansas, to play N.C. State, Sam Houston State, and Kansas State. After their weekend-opener, the Rattlers will return to Tallahassee to play a midweek game at Florida State (August 31) before hosting Yale, Austin Peay, and James Madison in their home-opening tournament on September 2nd and 3rd.

The following weekend the Rattlers will travel to North Carolina to play UNC Greensboro, Elon, and former MEAC foe North Carolina A&T. Then the Rattlers will travel to Mobile, Alabama to play Ole Miss, Eastern Kentucky, and South Alabama.

The Rattlers will return home to host UAB on September 18, then travel to Daytona Beach for an early conference game versus Bethune-Cookman, and return to Tallahassee for their final non-conference games versus North Florida.

Florida A&M will open up conference play with five straight games in Alabama, facing Alabama State, Alabama A&M, Grambling State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and Prairie View A&M. The Rattlers will continue their road games with two more in Mississippi before returning home to host Bethune-Cookman.

After Bethune-Cookman, the Rattlers hit the road again, traveling to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to play Southern, Texas Southern, and Alcorn State. Following the second SWAC cluster, the Rattlers will return home to finish the regular season with four straight home games versus Alabama State, Alabama A&M, Jackson State, and Mississippi Valley.

The 2022 SWAC Championships will be played November 18-20 in Houston, Texas.
