Tallahassee, Fla. | The FAMU men's basketball schedule is complete, and we are ready to get back on the road! The Rattlers will travel to Eugene, Oregon, to compete against the 21st-ranked Ducks on November 7th.
"I'm excited for the 2022-23 season and the opportunity to play prestigious college basketball programs during the non-conference season," said Head Coach Robert McCullum. "The season-opener at Oregon will be a tremendous challenge for us as we play them a part of the SWAC/Pac-12 Legacy Series before traveling to Portland and Oregon State in the same week.
"The eight Power-5 games we play will greatly prepare us for the SWAC competition as we want to improve on our fourth-place finish last season."
Non-Conference
In this 2022-2023 season, the Rattlers will take on eight Power 5 programs, including teams starring in the Pac-12, Southeastern, Atlantic Coast, and Big Ten conferences at the beginning of their non-conference season. In November, these universities include number 21 ranked Oregon (Nov. 7) as part of the SWAC/Pac-12 Legacy Series, Oregon State (Nov. 11), Miami (Nov. 14), and Florida (Nov. 30). Also, FAMU will travel to Portland (Nov. 9) and host Albany State (Nov. 21).
As the Rattlers progress through the season, the following month will consist of more Power 5 road trips as they travel to play Georgia (Dec. 2), Louisville (Dec. 17), number 4 ranked Kentucky (Dec. 21), and will close out non-conference play at Purdue (Dec. 29). After the Georgia game, the Rattlers will host Edward Waters (Dec. 13) at the Al Lawson Center.
