BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Rattlers are on a roll in the win column, and the SWAC awards as Irem Ucar and Brooke Lynn Watts earn SWAC honors.
Brooke Lynn Watts - Newcomer of the Week
Brooke Lynn Watts contributed for the Rattlers on the offensive, and defensive side of the game as Watts finished with 18 kills (3 kills per set), 20.5 points (3.42 points per set), 17 digs (2.83 sets per set), and two blocks as the Rattlers swept the weekend to win their 20th consecutive SWAC match. Brooke Lynn Watts recorded 13 of her 18 kills in the 3-1 win at Jackson State. Watts is currently in third in kills with 97. This is Watts' third Newcomer of the Week award.
Irem Ucar - Setter of the Week
Irem Ucar set up her hitters as she finished with 71 assists (10.14 assists per set) as the Rattlers swept the weekend to win their 20th consecutive SWAC match. Ucar recorded 49 of her 71 assists in the 3-1 win at Jackson State. Ucar continues to lead the SWAC in assists with 301. This is Ucar's fourth Setter of the Week award.
The Rattlers return to Al Lawson this Friday, October 21, at 6 p.m. to host in-state rival Bethune-Cookman.
