SORRENTO, Fla. | Mulbe Dillard fired a 2-over-par 74 during the opening round of the BCGCA Legends Invite on Wednesday as the Florida A&M University men's golf team opened its 2020 season at the Eagle Dunes Golf Club.

Dillard, who a bogey on No. 15 and No. 17, sits in a tie with Alabama State's Thacher Neal and one stroke ahead of Thomas Caddell heading into Thursday's final round.

FAMU teammates
Mahindra Lutchman and
Cameron Riley remain in the hunt and are locked in a five-way tie for fourth at 4-over 76. Lutchman registered one birdie (No. 14) and four bogeys, while Riley carded a birdie on No. 7 and No. 9, three bogeys and a double bogey.
Alejandro Toro Cupril is tied for 16th after firing an 81, while
Logan Bryant is 18th with an 82. Â

Florida A&M, which won their final three tournaments in the fall, currently sits five strokes ahead of Alabama State. The Rattlers carded a 19-over-par 307 to lead the five-team field. Alabama State shot a 312, followed by Texas Southern (314), Maryland Eastern Shore (322) and Alabama A&M (335).

FAMU concludes the two-day tournament on Thursday at the Eagles Dunes Golf Club and will be seeking its fourth consecutive victory.
