10/17/2025 3:43:00 PM

STATESBORO, Ga. — Florida A&M men's golf continued to build momentum on the fall circuit, finishing 11th overall at the Bash in the Boro hosted by Georgia Southern. Despite a deep and talented field that included several top-ranked mid-majors, the Rattlers posted a +23 team score over three rounds, showing flashes of the consistency and competitiveness that define FAMU's growing golf program.

Georgia Southern dominated its home course to win the event at 31-under, followed by Jacksonville State (-15) and Campbell (-13). FAMU, meanwhile, battled through challenging second and third rounds to outpace USC Beaufort and stay within striking distance of Marshall.

Rattlers Show Fight on Day Two
The Rattlers' second-round surge — a team 2-under performance — was a highlight of the week, lifting them past multiple squads in the standings. That strong showing came courtesy of steady play from junior Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul, who carded three consistent rounds (E, E, +3) to finish tied for 28th at +3 overall.

Viboonviriyasakul's composure on the greens and control off the tee stood out against a course that demanded precision. He led the way for the Rattlers, earning valuable points toward FAMU's national ranking and individual season metrics.

Team Depth Shines Through
FAMU showed strong depth behind its leader. Sascha Robinson and Miguel Ilas both finished tied for 47th at +7, combining solid mid-rounds with clutch birdies in their final nine holes. Emilio Garcia finished tied for 56th at +9, while Taylor Bell closed at +15,

Skyler Woods, competing as an individual, gained valuable experience at the Division I level, finishing the tournament at +33. His participation underscored the team's focus on developing young talent within the program.
