CINCINNATI, Ohio — Florida A&M University's men's golf team showed grit and precision over three rounds of competition this week, finishing tied for sixth at the Xavier Invitational.

The Rattlers, led by standout play from Miguel Illas and Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul, posted a team total of +55, tying with Morehead State and just a few strokes shy of a top-five finish. Despite challenging conditions and fierce competition from teams like Xavier and Tennessee Tech, FAMU's consistency across all three rounds reflected a program continuing to rise in stature.

Illas led the Rattlers individually with a +6 finish, carding rounds of +5, -1, and +2 for a total of 29.86 points—good enough to crack the individual top 10. Viboonviriyasakul followed close behind at +8, staying steady through the final round to secure valuable team points. Senior Taylor Bell and Jonathan Scott each contributed crucial rounds, with Bell finishing +17 and Scott +27, while Emilio Garcia rounded out the lineup at +32.

FAMU's team total placed them ahead of programs such as Detroit Mercy, Air Force, and Northern Kentucky, a testament to their growing depth and mental toughness on the course.

The Rattlers' balanced attack and steady improvement throughout the tournament have drawn attention across the college golf landscape. With Illas emerging as a steady top-10 presence and

Viboonviriyasakul providing veteran leadership, the team looks poised to make noise in upcoming conference play.
