BATON ROUGE, La. (Mar. 3) - The Florida A&M Women's Bowling Team turned in a sparkling performance over the weekend to capture the championship of the 2019 Mardi Gras Challenge, hosted by Southern University.
Coach Karen Brown's club turned in an 8-2 overall record in the event, knocking down 9,210 total pints good for a 184.2 average, edging out Jackson (Miss.) State (8-2), which posted a 179.8 average.
Sophomore Keondra Eaton had a happy homecoming back to Baton Rouge, finishing first overall in the Challenge with a 211.40 averaged in a five-game stretch, bowling over 1,057 pins.
She posted four 200-plus games, highlighted by a 255 score in Game Four (214-175-213-255-200=1,057=211.40).
LeAnne Militscher finished fifth (186.80) with a pair of 200 games (200, 208); Chelsie Cleaves was seventh (183.40, 196 high game); Demetria Bethel placed eighth(179.40), with a 230 high game in Game Four; and Monique Ragland finished 10th (176.00, 199 high game).
