TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida A&M University women's bowling team will compete March 20-22 at the International Bowling Training and Research Center (ITRC) in Arlington, Texas.
FAMU enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed following a 13-15 record in SWAC play and will open bracket action against No. 3 seed Alabama State in Match 2 of the winner's bracket on Friday, March 20 at 9 a.m.
The six-team, double-elimination field features the top programs in the conference at the conclusion of regular season play. No. 1 seed Jackson State leads the bracket as the SWAC Regular Season Champion (24-4), followed by No. 2 Texas Southern (19-9), No. 3 Alabama State (17-11), No. 4 Southern (15-13) and No. 5 Alabama A&M (14-14).
Tournament matches on Friday and Saturday will be streamed for free on Bowl TV, with the championship match airing live on SWAC TV. Admission is free to the public.
The format for the first two days features a Mega Match Format (best-of-three) consisting of a five-person team match, Baker Total Pinfall and best-of-seven Baker match play. Sunday's championship round shifts to single-elimination, best-of-seven format.
