SAVANNAH, Ga. (Oct. 30) – The Florida A&M Men's Golf team battled archrival Bethune-Cookman for three rounds in the Savannah State University Tiger Fall Invitational on the Championship Course at the Crosswinds Golf Club, dropping the hotly-contested event to the Wildcats.
FAMU shot a three-day total of 908 (301-305-302), just getting edged out by B-CU, which carded an 895 total in three rounds of play.
In the first and third rounds, FAMU was just four strokes off the Wildcats' pace, shooting a 301 to B-CU's 297 in the opening round, then firing a 302 in the third round, four strokes better than the Wildcats' 306.
The difference was the second round scores, where FAMU shot a 305 to Bethune-Cookman's 292.
Five Rattler performers finished in the Top 20, headed by the duo of Mulbe Dillard (73-74-79) and Ethan Mangum (77-75-74), who tied for seventh at 226.
Rounding out the Rattler contingent were Mahindra Lutchman (75-75-79=229), who finished ninth; Cameron Riley (76-82-74=232), who placed 11th; and Logan Bryant (78-81-75=234), who placed 14th.
