@High School:  Simms was four-year letter winner in basketball at Shaw high school in East Cleveland, Ohio.  In her senior season of play, Simms averaged 16.5 points, 6.4 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game.   Simms was named the Plain Daily Player of the Week and was named the team's Most Valuable Player.

Her junior season, Simms averaged 21 points and five assists per game earning first team All-League honors  and was named the team's Most Outstanding Player.

@Personal:  Lenay Simms was born on March 17, 1992 to Penea Hills and Fred Simms in Cleveland, Ohio.   She has eight sibling DeAnthony, DeAngelo, Emmanuel, Fred, Travis, DeMarcus, Shenay and Marnay.  Also she volunteers at the March of Dimes in Cleveland.  Simms has not declared a major as of yet and enjoys playing basketball, family event s and hanging out with her family in her spare time.
