Before Nebraska (Amos P. Godby HS)
Yant was a late addition to the roster, as he joined Nebraska's walk-on class in mid-July. Yant came to Nebraska from Amos P. Godby High School in Florida, the alma mater of Husker defensive backs coach Travis Fisher. Yant rushed for 583 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior on fewer than 100 carries. He had 908 rushing yards with 10 touchdowns as a junior, when he averaged 8.4 yards per carry and added 12 catches for 150 yards. Regarded as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, Yant chose Nebraska over walk-on offers from several other schools, including Power Five programs.
