TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida A&M outside hitter LaDonna Trantham has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Co-Newcomer of the Week following her standout performance at the Florida A&M Invitational.

The freshman delivered across the board, finishing the weekend with 28 kills, averaging 3.11 per set, while hitting on 93 total attempts. She also contributed on defense with 18 digs (2.00 per set) and added balance at the net with three blocks. Trantham's serving was equally impressive, as she tallied a team-high five aces without committing a service error.

Her production translated into a team-best 35 points overall, averaging nearly four points per set — the highest mark among Rattler hitters.

The conference honor marks her first weekly award since joining the Rattlers, and it highlights her immediate influence in Tallahassee.
