TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --Ladonna Trantham and Sydney Whitfield both recorded double-doubles to help lead the Florida A&M volleyball team to a 3-1 win (25-16, 28-26, 19-25, 25-21) against the Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats Friday at home at Lawson Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium.
The conference win improved Florida A&M's record to 9-16 overall and 7-7 in SWAC action.
The Rattlers were led by the double-doubles from Whitfield, who had 12 kills and 19 digs, and Trantham, who had 17 kills and 16 digs. Farah Farooq added 19 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Dylan Hoskins chipped in for with 13 digs to go with five blocks from Tamia Coleman.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Rattlerettes grabbed control of the set-one lead at 6-5 and held the lead the rest of the way to win 25-16. Florida A&M led by as many as 11 points at 24-13 before closing out the set, totaling 17 kills in the process.
SET 2 | Florida A&M won the second set 28-26 to promptly grab a 2-0 lead. The Rattlers survived a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied 12 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way. Florida A&M's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Bethune-Cookman attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Florida A&M saw its bid for a 3-0 win end when Bethune-Cookman took set three. The Rattlers fell behind on the first point and never took the lead before losing the set 25-19.
SET 4 | Florida A&M then responded to claim the match win with a 25-21 set-four victory. A strong showing on the attacking end led the Rattlers to victory in the set. Florida A&M put together a .333 attack percentage with 19 kills in the set win. After the lead changed hands one time, the Rattlers took control for good at 19-18 and rode that advantage to victory.
