TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Jordan Chatman made seven 3-pointers and totaled 25 points, and the Florida A&M men's basketball team defeated the Albany State Golden Rams 93-77 at home Monday.

The Rattlers (2-5) had four players score in double figures, led by Chatman, who had 25 points and six rebounds. Antonio Baker added 19 points, seven assists and five steals and Anquan Boldin Jr. helped out with 14 points off of the bench.

Florida A&M collected 32 rebounds in Monday's game compared to Albany State (GA)'s 25, led by six boards from Tyler Shirley.

The Florida A&M defense caused its share of mistakes in Monday's game, forcing 18 Albany State (GA) turnovers while committing 11. Those takeaways turned into 25 points on the other end of the floor. Baker's five steals led the way individually for the Rattlers.

How It Happened

Florida A&M started out the scoring by going on a 7-0 run, culminating in a bucket from Miles Ndalama, to take an early lead with 17:58 left in the first half. The Rattlers then added five points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 47-35 advantage. Florida A&M did most of its first half damage in the paint, scoring 26 of its 47 points close to the basket.

Florida A&M kept its lead intact before going on a 16-0 run to grow the lead to 83-59 with 5:26 to go in the contest. The Golden Rams narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Rattlers still cruised the rest of the way for the 93-77 win. Florida A&M shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting seven shots from deep to score 21 of its 46 points.
