BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Florida A&M University will be well represented at the Southwestern Athletic Conference's annual Men's and Women's Basketball Media Days, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 7, and Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama.
The two-day event will feature all SWAC head coaches and select student-athletes as they preview the upcoming 2025–26 basketball seasons. The conference will also reveal the predicted order of finish for both men's and women's programs during the sessions.
Representing the women's team on Tuesday are head coach
Bridgette Gordon will be joined by
April Hooks and
Breazia Robinson.
On the men's side on Wednesday, it's FAMU head coach Charlie Ward, along with student-athletes
Jordan Chatman and
Tyler Shirley.
Media one-on-one interviews with coaches and players are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CST on both days, offering reporters and broadcasters a first look at the Rattlers' expectations and storylines heading into the new season.
The 2025–26 campaign marks another opportunity for FAMU to build on its progress within the SWAC, as both programs look to make a strong statement in one of the nation's most competitive HBCU basketball conferences.
