BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) announced its Track & Field Athletes of the Week Friday (Jan. 24), recognizing Florida A&M's
Dajon Clark,
Nya Blocker, and
Jade-Ann Smith for their standout performances at the HBCU Showcase.
Dajon Clark, Co-Field Performer of the Week
Won a pair of events – the 60 and long jump – at the HBCU Showcase sponsored by KPMG (Jan. 18) … set a new personal record in the 60 with a time of 6.66, which also ranks 22nd in the nation (NCAA Division I Qualifying List) … recorded a 7.51-meter (24' 7.75") LJ which ranks 28th in the nation and sits atop the 2024 SWAC Indoor Performance List
Nya Blocker, Track Performer of the Week
Also won a pair of events – the 60 and 200 – at the HBCU Showcase … set a new PR in the 60 with a time of 7.38 which ranks 50th-best in the nation … finished the 200 in 23.55 which ranks 14th in the nation … both performances are the fastest recorded in the SWAC this season
Jade-Ann Smith, Newcomer of the Week
Competed in three events at the HBCU Showcase … placed second and set a new personal record in the triple jump (11.99 meters / 39' 4") … finished seventh in the long jump (5.46 meters / 17' 11") … both rank third best in the SWAC this season
