Baseball prepares for mid-week contest against Mercer

Tallahassee, FL. - Florida A&M Baseball will host Mercer for a mid-week match-up. In February, the Rattlers fell to the Bears in a two-game slate in Macon. The Rattlers enter Wednesday's game, winning six of their last seven.


Last time out

The Rattlers swept Alabama State in a three-game series last weekend, making it the Rattlers third series sweep of the season.

Match-up History 

The Rattlers are 7-37 all-time against Mercer.


Scouting Mercer

The Bears are sixth in the SoCon with a 2-4 conference record so far this season. They enter Wednesday's game, winning two of their last seven, falling only to Kennesaw State and dropping series' against Seton Hall and East Tennesee State. 

Senior outfielder Conner Todaro leads the team at the plate, batting .362 and has a .522 slugging percentage. Redshirt Junior outfielder Jackson Cherry leads the team with three home runs and six RBIs. In Mercer's most recent game, they took a 5-4 lead into the eighth inning at East Tennessee State but gave up two runs in the the frame to lose 6-5. The Bears bounced back on Saturday to take an 8-5 win, with six players registering an RBI. The Bears struggled on Sunday but scored four total runs off two home runs in an 11-4 loss. Cherry hit a home run to open Friday and Saturday games. Parker Lester hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning on Sunday, and senior outfielder Max Kops came in as a pinch hitter in the ninth and hit his first home run of the season.
