JACKSONVILLE, Fla. | There was no shortage of competition at the East Coast Relays (April 27), where the Florida A&M track and field program faced some of their largest fields yet. A few of the Rattlers' more standout performances saw Kirk Dawkins run alongside 86 others in the 800-meter race, finishing fifth overall in 1:52.34, while Rori Lowe, crossing the finish line in 11.77, placed 14th out of 80 in the 100 meters. 
 
A day after Breanna Brown-Marshall's victory in the high jump, FAMU's 4x400 claimed the team's second podium finish, when Katelynn Smith, Rori Lowe, Madison Gordon, and Tatianna Martinez joined forces to post the women's fastest relay this season. The time (3:41.21) was the fastest amongst the collegiate competitors and placed second overall behind an unattached foursome.
 
Preston Loggins (discus / 45.09 meters) and Peter Sailsman (long jump / 7.28 meters) also finished "Top 10" in their respective events. 
 
Florida A&M will next compete in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The three-day meet, hosted by Southern University, begins May 2.
