GAME 2 | Alabama A&M 7, Florida A&M 6
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --The Florida A&M Rattlers got a boost from senior Mia Blasingane, who totaled three hits in a 7-6 loss to the Alabama A&M Bulldogs Saturday.
Freshman Zoryana Hughes (13-3) took the loss in the circle for Florida A&M (23-18, 19-5). The right-hander went 5.1 innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on four hits, allowing four walks and striking out three.
In addition to her three hits, Blasingane had a double and two RBI to lead the Rattlers. Junior Samantha Smith put together a noteworthy day at the plate as well, going 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI. Senior Nyah Morgan also contributed for Florida A&M, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding a triple and a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rattlers were trailing 5-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Florida A&M got an RBI single from junior Kiauna Watson, scoring senior Nyomi Jones from second base.
The Bulldogs expanded their lead to 6-1 before the Rattlers offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the fourth. which brought the score to 6-4 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Florida A&M kept the Bulldogs off the board before rallying to tie it up at six in the fifth. Blasingane's run-scoring single highlighted a two-run output in the frame for the Rattlers. Alabama A&M then scored one time over the remaining two innings to break the tie and grab the 7-6 win.
