TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Freshman Zoryana Hughes dominated on Wednesday, fanning 10 Mercer hitters over 6.2 innings of work to help power the Florida A&M Rattlers over the Bears 5-2.
In addition to her 10 strikeouts, Hughes (2-2) went 6.2 innings, giving up one run on five hits and walking two for Florida A&M (4-13).
Junior Brianna Duggins led the way offensively for the Rattlers, going 1-for-2 in the ballgame with a walk and two RBI. Junior Kiauna Watson put together a standout performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-2 with two RBI. Junior Kayla Alexandre also contributed, going 1-for-3 for Florida A&M with an RBI.

Trailing 1-0, the Rattlers first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Florida A&M's offense started clicking and put up five runs, including a two-run single off the bat of Watson and a two-run single from Duggins.
