Recapping the Last Meet
The Rattlers opened their outdoor schedule at the UCF Black & Gold Invite, where Joseph DeRosier claimed their first win. The freshman was recently named the SWAC's Co-Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday (March 19) after defeating 18 others in the 110-meter hurdles (13.64) -- it's currently the third fastest time in the NCAA.

Freshman Katelynn Smith notched the Rattlers' top performance on day one, securing second place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.38. She was the fastest collegiate runner in the event, trailing only an unattached competitor.

FAM also saw three others finish "Top 10" in their events. In the 400-meter race, Alesia Douglas placed sixth in a 40-person field (54.76), while Kimeone McLeod came in at seventh in a 33-person field in the 100-meter hurdles (14.06). Peter Sailsman also excelled, finishing eighth in the long jump against 29 others with a distance of 7.18 meters (23' 8.75").
