GRAMBLING, LA --Keith Lamar, Shannon Grant, and Jordan Chatman combined to score 51 of Florida A&M's 68 total points, but the Rattlers fell to the Grambling Tigers 75-68 on the road Saturday.
The Rattlers (6-21, 4-12) had three players score in double figures, led by Lamar, who had 24 points. Grant added 14 points and two blocks and Chatman chipped in as well with 13 points, nine rebounds and two steals.
Led by Chatman's seven offensive rebounds, Florida A&M did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 11 boards that resulted in 11 second chance points.
How It Happened
Florida A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 42-32 heading into halftime.
Grambling kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 53-41 advantage before Florida A&M went on a 6-0 run, finished off by Matthew Webster's jumper, to shrink the deficit to 53-47 with 12:25 to go in the contest. Grambling responded and outscored the Rattlers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 75-68. Florida A&M capitalized on seven Grambling turnovers in the period, collecting nine points off those turnovers.
