GAME 2 | Florida A&M 13, Alabama A&M 7
HUNTSVILLE, AL --Senior Sebastian Greico racked up four hits to help lead the Florida A&M Rattlers over the Alabama A&M Bulldogs 13-7 on Saturday.
Senior Andrew Ginther (1-1) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Florida A&M (7-12, 2-0). The right-hander went 4.2 innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on three hits, allowing no walks and striking out four.
In addition to his four hits, Greico had a double, a home run and three RBI to lead the Rattlers. Senior Adam Haidermota compiled a standout performance as well, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, a walk and an RBI. Senior Evan Badger also contributed for Florida A&M, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding a double, a walk and two RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rattlers got on the scoreboard first, starting in the second inning. Florida A&M scored three times, picking up one on an RBI base knock off the bat of Badger.
The Rattlers then lost some of their lead, expanding on their advantage in the third inning after the Bulldogs cut it to 3-2. Florida A&M plated two runs off of Alabama A&M pitching, punctuated by a run-scoring double off the bat of Haidermota, which brought the score to 5-2 in favor of the Rattlers.
Alabama A&M narrowed Florida A&M's lead to 5-3 before the Rattlers stretched the advantage to 11-3 in the fourth inning. The Rattlers bats heated up in the inning, scoring six runs, including a two-run error off the bat of senior True Fontenot.
The Bulldogs fought back, closing the gap to 11-5 until Florida A&M added some insurance in the ninth. The Rattlers scored twice on Greico's two-run homer, bringing the score to 13-5 in favor of Florida A&M. Alabama A&M put two runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but the Rattlers still coasted to the 13-7 win.
