ORLANDO | On Friday (March 15), the Florida A&M track and field program opened its outdoor season at the UCF Black & Gold Invitational. Freshman
Katelynn Smith notched the Rattlers' top performance in Orlando, securing second place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.38. She was the fastest collegiate runner in the event, trailing only an unattached competitor.
Peter Sailsman (7.18 meters / 23' 8.75") and
Breanna Brown-Marshall (5.68m / 18' 7.75") also recorded stellar finishes in the long jump, eighth and 13th, respectively.
Day two of the Black and Gold Invitational begins with field events at 10 a.m. Running events follow at noon.
