BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Kimeone McLeod and
Joseph DeRosier are having an impressive debut season with the Florida A&M track and field program; the pair shined at the South Carolina Invitational this past weekend, and have earned recognition as Southwestern Athletic Conference Track Athletes of the Week (Feb. 7).
McLeod finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.35) at the invite-only meet. Her time is not only the fastest in the SWAC but also ranks 58th on the NCAA Division I Indoor Qualifying List.
For DeRosier, dominating the 60-meter hurdles has become common practice. The freshman finished first in both the preliminary and final races for the second time this season; this time in 7.99 and 7.87, respectively.
The SWAC award marks DeRosier's second this year and McLeod's first.
