Atlanta, Ga. - The Florida A&M Baseball team (4-5, 0-0) will play in the Ralph Garr-Bill Lucas HBCU Baseball Classic in a doubleheader Saturday. The two-game series will feature the Rattlers and Grambling State, the alma maters of Braves Hall of Famers Ralph Garr and Bill Lucas. The Rattlers defeated the Tigers 7-6 in the Andre Dawson Classic (2/23).

The Rattlers traveled to Macon, Georgia, for a two-game series against Mercer, where they went 0-2 against the Bears.
About the Ralph Garr-Bill Lucas HBCU Baseball Classic
Designed to highlight baseball programs at historically black colleges and universities in the Southeast, the showcase is an extension of the Atlanta Braves' efforts to foster the next generation of diverse baseball players. The classic serves as an opportunity to expose student-athletes, support staff, and coaches to a Major League setting.

True Fontenot and Jacob Granger were named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Co-Hitter and Co-Pitcher of the week after their performances in the Andre Dawson Classic.
True Fontenot had an explosive weekend for the Rattlers with seven hits and a .778 batting average. Fontenot also had a .778 slugging percentage, .800 on-base percentage, five RBIs, and two scored runs in the Andre Dawson Classic this past weekend.
Jacob Granger led a fantastic win for the Rattlers in the final game of the 2024 Andre Dawson Classic against Southern University. Granger pitched six innings, throwing four strikeouts, giving up no runs on three hits, and had an opponent's batting average of .150.
Scouting the Tigers (vs. Arkansas)
The Grambling State baseball team suffered a 21-1 defeat at the hands of No. 2 Arkansas. GSU (1-7) struggled to get much offense going, scattering four hits over seven innings. Arkansas (6-2) exploded for 20 hits, including a pair of grand slams.
INF Ashton Inman led the Tigers at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a pair of base hits. OF LaMarcus Jones and INF Aries Gardner both went 1-for-1. Gardner's hit was a double down the left-field line in the seventh inning. Pitcher Carlos Peguero (0-2) got the start on the mound for Grambling State. He gave up seven runs on five hits.
