HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE | Alabama State was up by as many as three and withstood several FAMU rallies to maintain its advantage. There were ties at 9-9 and 10-10 and quite a few instances when the Rattlers pulled within one.

Despite recording one of its lowest hitting percentages (-.034), a kill by Sanford brought the score to 20-21 and kicked started a 6-1, set-ending run.

SET TWO | The two remained lockstep, with six ties keeping the set tightly contested. The Rattlers created some distance with a 5-0 run, highlighted by back-to-back aces from Tinons Galmés, before the score was once again knotted at 23-all.

The Hornets had a chance to take the set at 24-23, but the Rattlers wouldn't be denied, closing it out with back-to-back kills and a set-ending ace from Bryshanna Brown.

SET THREE | ASU led the third set from start to finish, leading by as many as 10, but FAMU made things interesting near the end, where a pair of Sanford kills evened things at 21-all.

SET FOUR | The Rattlers survived a back-and-forth set that featured three lead changes and was tied 10 times. Neither team was able to grab a lead larger than three points along the way.
